You might be thinking, “I’m not a model—how

The ambition, the drive, the hard work, the excite

The ambition, the drive, the hard work, the excitement... it was at an all-time high. Then everything came to a quick crashing hault.

My first contractor told me the studio was going to cost exponentially more than the original plan. I did not have the funds to continue. I had already broken ground, built a foundation, and framed the new build. It would sit like this for over a year. My husband would become jobless, and money would be extremely tight. I would have major bouts of depressive episodes that I hid from most. I would cry alone in my car, in my shower where no one would hear, or in my closet on my hands and knees, asking God why life had to be so hard. I would lean on wine to help me cope, which clearly didn't help. It would only lead to headaches, more stress, and anxiety, and guilt. I would feel like a failing mom and wife. I would be so angry that I put myself in this situation. Throwing hundreds of thousands of dollars at something that felt so far from completion.

Little did I know God was preparing me. Giving me the strength to pull through. Teaching me that patience truly is a virtue. Showing me that if I can make it through this season, I can make it through anything.

I was finally able to secure a loan that I never thought I'd qualify for.

Hired a new contractor who was willing to pick up the pieces. He was very honest and transparent about what it would take.

I quit drinking all alcohol, and my sleep and motivation have never been better.

It's been almost 3 years since I first decided to chase my dream of building a studio to completion. It's been a very long road, but... I'm sitting here today, soaking in all the gratitude for persevering through it.
