This year we were able to head out to Crested Butte to enjoy it in all its beauty. I LOVE photographing out there. It is just so majestic. We invited our friends Ann Marie and Rick to join us as well which was a ton of fun. We stayed at Elevation Resort and Spa. This is 2nd time there since we enjoyed it so much last time. Amaiah was really excited to find herself on the cover of the Gunnison Country Times in the lobby.
The first day we headed out to do some fishing on the Blue Mesa Reservoir. The girls had a blast chasing some monarch butterflies. The res was just so peaceful. I enjoyed watching all the kayakers crusing by. What a view they must have. That night we took turns heading down to Old crested butte for the nightlife. What a fun atmosphere!
The second day we spent exploring Crested Butte and playing in the gorgeous wildflowers. Amaiah is just so darn cute with all her “model” poses. She is finally starting to love the camera.
We were only able to stay a weekend but I as we checked out I made sure to book another date for Tony and I’s September anniversary. I couldn’t wait to come back until next year.Crested Butte photographer, Gunnison photographer
Fast forward a few months… It’s September and Tony and I’s first anniversary in 7 years alone!!! Our first morning I had to get some amazing Cabin Coffee. I love this little coffee shop. It is a ritual to have an iced coffee morning. This coffee shop is so adorably rustic with its decor!
Later, I surprised Tony with an off roading Jeep adventure! I have always wanted to explore Crested Butte by 4×4 so this was really exciting. I loved every bit of our day trip. Well… except when I would look down out my window and see a thousand foot drop. I really wanted to go to the old Mill that is so historic for photographing but the Punch Bowl (route to get there) was extremely dangerous. Oh well… maybe a hike someday to look forward to!
