I had always wanted to take photos of my baby belly growing through out my pregnancy and so this time I made sure to do it!
I was so lucky to have one of my very best friends Paige, fly all the way from Guam to surprise me! She had a week to stay with us and so we told little Ellie she had to come out soon. We tried it all to get this little baby going from raspberry leaf tea to rocking on a yoga ball. I was outside drawing chalk with my daughter Amaiah on Aug 17th at 6pm, when my water finally broke. I was in shock and surprisingly really calm. I called my husband Tony to come home from work because it was go time. Almost immediately contracts began. They were very close together but not too painful. I was actually really relaxed walking around the house just trying to think if there was anything else I needed to do before I left. My husband was home with in an hour. On our way to the hospital the contractions picked up intensity. By the time we got to the hospital I the contractions were really getting painful. The L&D department was in the middle of the shift change and so I waited in triage for an hour for someone to come check me. By the time the doc had finally gotten to my room I was dialated to a 7. They admitted me to my room at 8: 15 pm. Just as I was getting situated in my room, Ellie decided to arrive. With no doctors in the room I had pushed her head out. I nurse ran out into the hallway like a scene from a movie yelling “We need a doctor in here!”. With only a few pushes Ellie graced us with her presence at 8:19. She was so peaceful and little weighing 7lbs 4 oz and 20 inches long. She was perfect. Happy and Healthy. I never thought I’d be able to make it through a natural labor but it was so much better than I ever thought it would be. First few days at home…
Amaiah finally got the courage to hold Ellie after a few days
Loved Amaiah cuddling with sister.
